Donation of Antibiotics valued at 13 Million USD in 2008

Artists Village secured and donated $13 million dollars worth of antibiotics to help treat about 200,000 patients after four consecutive hurricanes. With the help of one of the organization’s consultants, Artists Village, Inc., gave one of the largest donations to Haiti after the hurricanes.

When questioned on how the organization was able to secure such an extraordinary life-saving donation, Artists Village Founder Ronide Cayo said “we at Artists Village work all year long. We don’t wait until there’s a crisis in order to do something.  We don’t just make promises; we deliver.”

The two large containers safely arrived in Haiti in record timing thanks to the exceptional leadership and collaborating efforts of the Haitian-American Chamber of Commerce (Florida) President Mr. Munir Mourra

Artists Village especially shows great appreciation towards the relentless efforts of President of Congress,  Eric Jean Jacques, who personally ensured the safe arrival of the antibiotics, while supervising the logistics on the terrain.

Artists Village was warmly welcomed by the Minister of Interior Affairs, Mr. Paul Antoine Bien-Aime and the Director of Protection Civile,  Ms. Alta Jean-Baptiste, at the Minister’s Office (photo on bottom right). Mr. Bien-Aime and Ms. Jean-Baptiste promised to work hand-in-hand with Artists Village, insuring the safe delivery of all donated goods through the organization.

On October 15, 2008, prior to the delegation’s departure back to the U.S., Prime Minister Michelle Pierre-Louis accompanied by the President of Congress, Mr. Jean Jacques, (photo on bottom left)  met with Artists Village’s delegation at Toussaint L'Ouverture International Airport in Port-au-Prince, in order to personally thank the organization for the much needed antibiotics.
